Biology, research & science communication

I am a Learning Specialist at Auckland Museum Tamaki Pāenga Hira. I'm responsible for the development and delivery of science programmes for schools. My job is awesome! Getting to showcase our science collections to students makes my day, I never get tired to seeing a child's face light up when they get to hold fossilised dinosaur poo.

I hold a Bsc Honours in marine biology and ecology. My dissertation is in snapper reproduction, however I am also particularly interested in ecology (as a whole), matauranga conservation, and socio-ecology (citizen science).

One of my previous jobs was a tutor at University which allowed me to understand what a lecturer and teacher looks for when marking and assessing students. Science communication is one of my strengths, so I am able to aid those that need some guidance in formatting & science writing.

At the museum I teach volcanoes, speciation, evolution, citizen science, ecology, genetics and dinosaurs. So for those under Y13 I am available to aid in any of these subjects.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
